The registration opens at 8 AM so we planned on going to World Trade Center before 8. And by before 8, I mean we left our house at 7:59 AM. So as we were waiting for the bus, there were lots of people waiting with us as well. It has been almost 30 minutes yet there’s no vacant bus that has passed so we planned on taking the train instead only to find out that the MRT was not working and that's surely why there are loads of people waiting with us outside.
Moral of the story: If you plan on going to the venue early, leave your house early. Good thing the MRT has started working again at around 9AM. We took the train and rode a jeepney after. It was definitely more expensive rather than taking a bus so I really hated this option but I had no choice. We got to the venue by 10 AM and there were loads of people outside already. We thought the registration has not started yet so we asked one of the staff there and he pointed to us a way where we could enter. At the entrance, you will see so many guards and they may seem scary but I joke around them to kind of make the ambience feel cooler and lighter lol. One of the guards checking my bag found the food I had and I told them that I was planning on giving it to one of the artists but they were really firm and said that it was not allowed so I just had to leave the food at the entrance. I have paid for that food so I was not leaving it there that’s why I asked them if I could eat it before entering and they said that that would be much better. Moral of the story: Do not disobey the rules. If they said no food allowed inside, it means no food allowed inside. There were separate registrations inside. Since we won meet and greet passes, that’s where we headed off to. There was no long line there at all and I think that maybe is the perk of arriving late lol. When we claimed the passes we only had to tell them our names and show our IDs. Claiming is easy as long as you have the email confirmation with you and your ID. Before we got to the hall, we saw Caleon Twins and we were probably the first ones to spot them since they just got out of the other hall. We asked for a photo and said that we look forward to their performance since they would go up on stage at the festival. They were really nice and cool. When we went inside the hall, the show has not started yet. There were different activities prepared by the sponsors, though. From Globe, you have to film a dance video with your friends and you get freebies. This also gives you a chance to win meet and greet passes. From Milo, I see people dancing as well and there were trainers to teach you there. Of course I was too shy to dance so I did not join any of those activities. But what I enjoyed was the free Milo they were giving out. I am pretty sure we got a dozen cups of Milo and we were so energized lol. My worry was that they would sell food there priced at an unbelievable amount just like last year, but good thing was that one of their sponsors was Jollibee. They were giving out free hotdog sandwiches and burgers to everyone. I was so happy and this was the highlight of my YTFF experience lol just kidding. You will also have no worry if you got thirsty because there were loads of bottled water there and they’re unlimited. There were two stages inside, one for the festival and one for the main show. At 11 AM the festival started and there were YouTubers up on stage already. Some people were watching near the stage, other preferred to sit on the floor and I was one of them. There was also a separate area for those who have general admission and those who have VIP passes. I got VIP passes since I also have M&G passes. We could stay in this area closer to the main stage and they put up barriers around so others could not pass. I stayed there most of the time during the festival because 1) I am tired of all the standing and walking around, 2) There’s definitely less people there, 3) I am on my phone checking Twitter. Thanks to Globe for the free wifi. There were also YouTubers you could spot if you roam around. You can see Pamela Swing and That’s Bella taking pictures with everyone. There were also celebrities there like AC Bonifacio, Kyline Alcantara, PBB housemates Baninay, Aura, and others. It’s cool you could meet a lot of people there even your internet friends. Meet and greet started at 4PM. Those with Superwoman/Lilly Singh M&G passes went upstairs since she was also doing a book launch. I am still jealous of them as I am typing this because IT’S SUPERWOMAN AND I WOULD LOVE TO MEET HER I MEAN WHO DOESN’T?!! I FOUND OUT THAT SOMEONE GAVE AWAY HER M&G PASS WITH LILLY AND I WAS LIKE WHYYYYYY But I still feel very grateful that I was able to meet Janina Vela, Matt Steffanina, Jayden Rodrigues, Megan Nicole and LaurDIY. Like I met them and hug them and told them I love them and ahvJMSVASJCXHVASJC. Here's another blog entry where I talk about my M&G experience with them: http://whoapotato.weebly.com/home/i-met-laurdiy-janina-vela-megan-nicole-matt-steffanina-and-jayden-rodrigues-at-ytffph Meet and greets are always the highlight of my YTFF experience. Last year I met Alex Wassabi, Connor Franta, Tanner Patrick, Tiffany Alvord, and Lloyd Cadena. This year I got lucky again and I wish I would be as lucky next year! *crossed fingers*. So there, since I posted another blog for my M&G, I will not go much into detail about it here. The day went by so fast and by 7 PM, the main show was about to start. Before it started though, Mars Miranda was playing some sick tunes on stage and it just brought the party vibes to the fanfest. The main show started with Mikey Bustos singing and he also opened the show as a host. Youtubers went on stage for their portion of the show and I enjoyed each performance screaming at the top of my lungs. I was so close to the stage that the only thing between us was the barrier. I was so close that I could see the YouTubers’ pores. I am not kidding. I will also not go into much detail about what they did because there are videos at YouTube FanFest’s YouTube channel. Lilly came out last and that’s when the audience lost it. That’s when I lost it. That was my first time seeing her since I was not outside when fans were screaming because she passed. I did not want to spoil my excitement so I did not wait for her outside. So right there at that moment when she came up on stage, I just stared at her and admired how good she looked like I was questioning if she was even real. She looked so pretty and she was so funny and she was so energetic and she was the exact same Lilly that I used to see on my screen. Don’t get me wrong I super duper LOVE LAUREX as well but since I have already met them before my excitement to see Lilly was so much more. I wish the FanFest did not end. This is the only thing I look forward in the summer. It still feels surreal that I was able to see and meet my favourite Youtubers in person. I hope I could still be able to attend next year and that it would still be free. I love YouTube FanFest and I would like to thank whoever is behind all these. I hope more people will have the same experience that I had. This is a freaking long blog entry but oh well, I want to remember this moment forever.
