I met Alex Wassabi for the second time last Friday, March 2nd. It was in Jollibee, BGC. Technically, it was my third time to see him. Everything is documented on my YTFF adventures, see my previous blogs. (Ooh look at her doing a shameless self promo LOL.) However this was just the second time that I got to interact and take a picture with him.
Honestly, I had to go attend an orientation in my university the same day but ya girl knows her priorities so she chose Alex over uni LOL. That is how much I genuinely want to meet him. There was a giveaway beforehand where the winners will get to meet Alex. My cousin and I joined, apparently, and we both won. We received a dm from Jollibee that we had to be there the next day around 4 PM. I was actually planning to go to my uni first but that would mean I’d be coming from Manila and the transpo would take so much time, so I decided to just ditch the orientation. Thankfully, I didn’t get screwed for that. My cousin also had to excuse himself from his classes and fortunately his teachers were fine with that. He went straight to our house from school as I was getting ready by 3 PM. I just wore my Beatles shirt tucked under my floral shorts. To make it look like not so pambahay, I wore a loose jacket and some running shoes. Now, I looked like I was just running around BGC and had to stop and rest for a while in Jollibee. That was definitely not the look I was trying to go for but I ended up looking exactly like that LOL. I just wanted to look casual and not overdressed. The annoying cousin of mine went back home to change outfits. I lent him my beloved Sherlock shirt and he hasn’t returned it since. I am going to have to remind him later. That bish. I think it was 4:15 when he came back. We tried finding a Grab right away then I was starting to get anxious because it was taking so much time. It was around 5 PM when we found a driver. Remember when Jollibee DMed us that we had to be there by 4 PM? Gosh we’re one hour late already. We went out and saw our Grab outside but the driver probably didn’t know so he drove past us and it was so funny how we were just running after him. When we were caught up, I knocked at the backseat and there we went. The venue was just near our place but there was a slight traffic. When we reached our destination, we went straight to the second floor. There were two lines - one for the winners and another for the walk-ins who were just wishing to meet Alex. Our line wasn’t that long and that’s most probably because we were late. Before 6 PM, we got inside. They gave us name tags and it felt so much like a birthday party LOL. The room was already pretty much full and the seats in front were occupied so we were seated at the back. We met someone who was just by herself and we talked for a bit. Then Alex finally arrived at 6:30 and the crowd went wild. I couldn’t even hear him when he was talking. There were games such as French Fry Eating Contest and Wassabi Pop Quiz. We also sang happy birthday (in English and Filipino) to Alex since it’s his birthday month. We love a Filipino birthday party. They also served Wasabi fries to everyone which is the main purpose of the event – to introduce their new product. I personally didn’t hate the taste of it but I also didn’t love it that much to the point I would feel the need to order it. It was alright, a bit spicy from the first bite with a salty aftertaste. I didn’t think I would like it at first but if you buy me one, thank you very much. The meet and greet started not long after. While we were in line, we saw Baninay and we took pictures with her. She seemed like a nice and down to earth person. She was game to take photos with everyone. As we were moving closer, I saw Matt holding Alex’s vlogging camera. I told my cousin that I wanted to be in Alex’s vlog so I’ll try to be friends with Matt LOL. When I got to be in front of him, I said hi. The camera wasn’t even turned on so I know I’m not in the vlog haha. I can tell he was a bit surprised that I recognized him. He asked me how I was and I didn’t know what to answer so I just murmured something lmao. He didn’t hear it so he moved closer to me and I told him that I was super excited to meet Alex. I think he gave me a smile and thumbs up, bruh his eyes are pretty. He might be wearing contacts but I still like it. Then I asked if we could take a selfie. He was so game and chill and I wasn’t expecting that he’d put his arms around me. Ang harot lang huehuehue. Then it was my turn to meet Alex. His security was like pushing me to go up to him already and I was like “Calm down, kuya Charles”. He should look at me first so I’ll know he’s ready. When I came up to him, we hugged each other and took a photo right away. I was also glad that someone was able to capture that moment. I saw a snap story from a person who works at Jollibee. Funny story, I was about to download it but when I came back, the story was already gone. It has already reached the 24 hour mark. I had to message her personally and ask if she was able to keep a copy and she was super nice about it. She sent it to me through messenger and I just, ugh, bless her soul. Also, I just noticed that Alex was wearing somewhat like a tie-dyed pink shirt which was close to the colour of my jacket. HA. I remember when we were also unexpectedly matching at YTFF when we were both wearing kind of like washed denim coloured outfits. I asked Alex if we could take another photo with a cute pose but as I was explaining it to him, his security was forcing us apart and he said in a super cute way that they won’t let him. I am laughing now just thinking about how I was trying to hold on to him but they’re moving me away from him. Why am I so dramatic? I have so much I want to talk to him about, but the meet up was so rushed it’s literally just “take a pic and leave.” I understand it, though. It was a free M&G and Alex would be so tired. I’m just hoping he’d be able to interact more with us next time, just like in YTFF. Although now I’m just really glad I got to meet this ball of sunshine again. He’s so nice and happy and tall and positive and his smile is just one of the best in the world. It went on super quick and we were already walking away from the resto when we decided halfway down the block to go back in and wait a little bit longer for Alex to leave. We were ordering a float and hamburger when Aaron went down with some bodyguards. There was a slight commotion and then a few seconds later it was Alex’s turn. I rushed to go for him and I got to touch his arms. It was so funny because my cousin was telling me about our order but I was focusing on something else. I didn’t notice that Matt was filming behind him. I am in his vlog after all LOL. We got our order and waited outside until their van leaves. We didn’t even know which one was his so we decided to give up after a few minutes. We walked from the venue to our house while reminiscing what just happened and I feel grateful because I get to experience these amazing things. I can’t wait to meet Alex again for the third time. Brb planning my next weird M&G pose idea.

~ Welcome to my basic food review where I eat basic food and make a basic review about them. ~
So today I ate McDonald’s Cheeseburger. I’ve been craving for a cheeseburger for quite a while now so I wanted to see if this one could satisfy my craving. This cheeseburger is Php41 alone or ala carte. If you want to buy it with regular fries and drink, it is Php87 and if you want to know how much a medium would cost, this is not Mcdonald’s website. Now let’s go on with the review. I had this burger as my midnight snack. It had been on our table for like 3 hours. I suggest you eat it while it’s hot because that is when it tastes the best. Nevertheless, this one still tasted good considering it had been left cold and alone. At first bite, you can already taste the cheese and meat which is good because other burgers at first bite only taste like buns. The buns on this burger are nothing special. They are just regular buns but I don’t care about the buns, I care about what is inside the bun. How many times have I said the word bun? On the second bite, that’s when you can taste the tomato, onion and all those little veggies I don’t recognize. I personally don’t put ketchup on my burgers because I think it overpowers the burger and I am a firm believer that the burgers alone taste divine. But I don’t know maybe they have already put on some ketchup on this burger or maybe it is just the tomato that I tasted, but it does its job of balancing out the taste. All in all, this burger is okay for me. I give it a 3.5/5 stars. The reason is I am not so happy with its price. It is quite expensive for me. Yes, it did satisfy my craving. Every bite was indeed heaven. It is just that the burger was too small I wanted more. Also, a life hack that I learned is if you want to buy a double cheeseburger, just buy 2 regular cheeseburgers. It is way cheaper and you get more. |
