Hi. This is me at 21 and these are 21 things about me.
1. I am gutted that I forgot to do this when I was 20. 2. I am turning 22 in a week so I am glad I stumbled upon my old blog post about this before I turn a year older. 3. I am writing this on a Sunday, around 7:30 PM. Why am I doing this instead of planning for work tomorrow? 4. I have been obsessed with Gossip Girl for over a year now. Sometimes I think I am Blair. Where's my Chuck tho? And I oop - 5. I am now in my second year of teaching. Math, of all subjects. Who would've thought. Lol 6. My phone is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and my laptop is still that same HP except there's an issue now with its battery. 7. Over the past year, I've seen ALL of my main favs. David Archuleta, Andy Brown of Lawson, Greyson Chance, and Kris Bernal. I even had a picture with Andy and Kris. Lmaoo my younger self would've been sooo ecstatic. 8. My cousin no longer lives with us. I am with my parents and grandma. 9. I am now a legit adult making coins and paying bills. Electricity, water, internet. 10. My hair is straight again. Just had a keratin treatment last month. 11. I am currently trying to heal these scars I have on my right arm and leg because I was so careless. God I hope I get rid of these. 12. Have I mentioned I love Gossip Girl? I think I will never get over that show. I will never find any other show that I will like as much as this. I almost saw Penn Badgley (Dan) this year but we were late and stayed on the wrong spot ugh. 13. I am still wearing glasses and my eyesight is still getting worse. 14. I experienced my first earthquake and almost every day after that, I think I've been feeling mini earthquakes. I don't know if it's just all in my head. 15. I currently have Taylor Swift's album "Lover" on repeat. My fav track is "London Boy". 16. We lost our aunt last year and it was my first time to lose someone that I actually knew and cared for. 17. For the first time in so many years, I can finally say I am content with my life right now and I haven't had so much anxiety. 18. The YouTubers that I am regularly watching as of the moment are David Dobrik, Gabi DeMartino, FreddyMyLove, Dolan Twins, Emma Chamberlain, Shane Dawson, Jenna Marbles, Joanna Ceddia, Ashley aka bestdressed, James Charles, Jeffree Star and Bretman Rock. I should've just made another blog post for this it's too long lol. 19. My friends have been telling me I lost weight and I think so too. I am finally confident to wear girly clothes and have my own sense of style. Thanks to Blair. 20. My favorite color is back to pink. Muted, light, or pastel. I also think the color of the Tiffany blue box is super cute. It looks like a mint green to me tho. 21. It took me over an hour to finish this. I hope I didn't miss any other important part of my 21 before I turn 22. Gaaahh I don't like this feeling. I hate getting old.

Answering questions I am not taking credit for this idea because I just found it somewhere on Pinterest but I think it’s cool and experimental so I just wanted to try it. What you have to do is to put your music on shuffle and then list down the first ten songs that will play. Now, just listing them down is quite boring so I wanted to write some things about each song and what it reminds me of. I dare you to do this as well and share it with the world because... why not? You might surprise yourself in five years and be like “That song was on my playlist?! Wow I had a great taste in music.” ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
1. La Vie En Rose – Daniela Andrade This was the first song that played and boy, oh, boy, I enjoyed it. It is very calming and I really like this version by Daniela Andrade because her voice is so soothing. It reminds me of the movie Monte Carlo which was set in Paris. So much aesthetic and giving me princess vibes. 2. The Good Side – Troye Sivan He just released this song and I’m quite surprised the first time I heard it. I was expecting some bops but this is definitely not one of those. It’s an emotional and meaningful song. I heard it’s about Connor Franta but it might be just rumour. Still, I am heartbroken because I used to ship them so hard and it’s tragic and beautiful at the same time. 3. Moon River – Audrey Hepburn I like listening to songs like this when my ears are tired of all the bops in the world. The first time I heard it was on “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” so I have no idea if that is where it originally came from, but I like Audrey’s version already so it doesn’t matter. 4. There For You – Martin Garrix, Troye Sivan Wow another song from Troye. Is it that obvious that I like listening to him? It’s a good bop and has some catchy tunes but I think he had better songs especially from Blue Neighbourhood and TRXYE. 5. ILYSB – STRIPPED – LANY I honestly didn’t know that this song has other versions so I am not sure if this one’s the original. My cousin once played another version and I got so confused because I am so used to this stripped version and I like it better anyways. 6. Superficial Love – Ruth B. I love her voice so much. There was a time when I only listened to this song on repeat as well as her other song, Lost Boy, which instantly became one of my favourites of all time. 7. Scars To Your Beautiful – Alessia Cara I also love Alessia’s unique voice. The song is beautiful as well as the message it’s trying to convey. This is a breath of fresh air from all the songs about the booties and the hoes. 8. Perfect Strangers – Jonas Blue, JP Cooper The first time I heard it was from Conor Maynard’s younger sister. Bruh, that girl can sing. I especially like how she did it slower than the original and with the use of a piano. It’s just beautiful I might have cried a bit. 9. Fresh Eyes – Andy Grammer I’ve been hearing this song everywhere when it came out and I just got curious until I looked it up. It’s so catchy and I could imagine myself dancing along to it. Embarassingly. 10. Miss Jackson – Panic! At The Disco, LOLO Great band. Great song. It makes me remember the good old times when I wasn’t into YouTube yet and I had to wait and watch the countdown on TV until its music video would play on MTV and MYX. It was the golden times. There you have it. I can’t wait to do this again next time and see how much my playlist has changed. I like this idea because I honestly can’t pick my top 10 favourite songs and this is another cool way of listing down ten songs. I am definitely going to look back at this in the future when I’m 80 and I will brag at my grandchildren how the music in my generation is better than theirs. Ariana Grande Dangerous Woman Shirt. I really love wearing fandom merch. Seriously, I have a problem. If you look at my closet, most of my shirts are referenced from some celebrities or shows. Notebook, Sticker & Washi tapes. I used to have a moleskin planner that really helps me to be organized but this one has empty pages so I'm planning to use it as a bullet journal which I think would be so much fun since I can customize it the way I want to. Clothes. My mom got me a bunch of clothes. I need to lose some weight though so the first dress would look flattering on me because it's really beautiful in real life. She bought it from like a Korean shop, along with the other dress. Also I am obsessed with sweaters so I was really happy when I got one. That blazer on the bottom left is just in case I need to be formal. Ya know, adulting. Makeup Stuff. I found these liquid lipsticks randomly at Watson. I was hesitant at first because I haven't heard of the brand "beauty now and next" before but I still got it since the set was super cheap. I got all of these three for P269 only. I have tried using it last Christmas and I love it. All shades are wearable and they complement my skin tone very well. Then my cousin gifted me with this brush set which happens to be one of my fave presents. I was going to buy it at Shopee but then he got it for me. It's my first brush set ever. It's very affordable and I heard good reviews about it. I'm so excited. Fragrance. I also got a bunch of fragrances that would last me for a year. The Victoria's Secret Pink Wild at Heart fragrance mist gives off a sweet but subtle scent. It's refreshing and I love how it's not overpowering. My uncle gave me that Davidoff Coolwater Cologne. I'm aware that it's for men but sometimes I like their perfume better because they last longer than women's. The body spray from Body Fantasies is the one I picked out on my own at Watsons when I was just strolling around. I've been looking for a vanilla scent for the longest time because it reminds me of Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck. It's not as good as that but it's a cheaper alternative or dupe if you may. Dong A Metallic Pens. I've been eyeing this set since it came out. I really wanted to have colorful pens that are in good quality. Since I'm planning to do a bullet journal this year, I thought I finally have a reason to purchase this. I know that it's good quality since I had pens from Dong A before and they really last until the final drop of ink. Sleeping Mask. My cousin got me this as a joke at first but it's honestly a practical and thoughtful gift. I already got one in just plain black and this one is a completely opposite design. We don't turn off the lights at night so to help me sleep, I really need this one. Skincare Stuff. My friend gave me these masks and it's that present you thought you don't need but you end up liking more than the rest of your gifts. The past few days, meaning the holidays, have been the busiest I've ever been and I was so close to having breakouts but when I used the mask, it definetely helped calm my skin down. A cousin of mine also got me these toner and soap. I haven't used them yet but they have a refreshing scent. I hope they work on my sensitive skin. Shoes. My mom and friend got me shoes, not that I need anymore of these. I wasn't planning on collecting shoes but now looking at them I think I have way too many. These are great shoes, though. They're comfy and perfect to throw in for casual wear. Mini Backpack. I have been wanting one since forever and I finally got it. I just wanted a plain black but I can't seem to find one. However, when I saw this, I liked the design instantly and the tassels add somewhat like an edgy style to it which I think was cool. I have only one small backpack and one drawstring bag that I am pretty sure I have used up way too much so this isn't just a want, it's also a need. Or am I just trying to justify myself for buying this lol. It isn't expensive though. Got it for P180 only. Can you believe?! Plus my cousins got bags too so I was required to pick one out as well huehue. These are the gifts I got this year. Yes, some of them I picked out on my own with the money I got from relatives. It's fun to pick out stuff you genuinely like, but for me opening presents is more fun. There's that feeling of excitement and surprise. You don't necessarily like all of them but at least the thought of them thinking about you while picking up that present is something I really do appreciate. However, I'm still grateful for everything I got. It's true that once you get older, material things don't matter as much. Just being around my family and friends during this time of the year is enough present for me. Not that I'm being dramatic. Okay, I am. I really learned that especially this year. It's one of the best years yet. I had amazing experiences and became closer than ever with my family. It's also the year I didn't have as much anxiety as I used to. I can say I'm finally out of the dungeon. I was happy most days of 2017 and I hope it continues right up to 2018 and the years to come. Cheers and here's to a happy new year for all of us, G xx The first ever IAGT event in Manila happened last November 18. It was an all-female line up of YouTubers and other online influencers. I got so many tickets from the online ticket selling and I won several giveaways too. All in all, I think we got 12 General Admission tickets and 12 VIP passes.
I invited some of my friends if they wanted to come but all of them were not available lol. I am that friend that no one cares about. I only went with two of my cousins. I gave away some of my passes outside the venue. We won meet and greet tickets both from IAGT and Globe. I won M&G for Kiana Valenciano, Abby Asistio, and Bethany Mota. My cousin got passes to see Abby, Donnalyn Bartolome, Niomi Smart, and Remi Cruz. The live show was supposed to start at 5PM but the M&G session would begin as early as 11. We had to claim our tickets from Globe between 10 - 11AM only. I was up by 8 and I got anxious that my cousin was still asleep so I kept flooding him with messages even when he was still offline. It was around 9 when I decided to take a shower and thankfully after that, I finally got a message that my cousin was up. I rushed him because Globe said that they’re strict with time. He came to our house at around 10AM. Good thing is that the venue is not that far from our house. My mom was on her way to Taguig as well so we went with her on the ride. We were dropped off at Market Market, and from that, we walked all the way to BGC. We were not that familiar with the venue since we’ve never been there so we asked some guards on the way. We passed like 3 streets and I also had a screenshot of the map as a guide. We were walking/jogging/running on the way because it’s only a quarter before 11. Why are we always like this? Always late. Always rushing to get to the venue. Ugh. We never learn. Then we finally noticed some dancing thingy with some air blown below it so it would move and make it look like it was dancing. Yeah I don’t know what it’s called and I am so bad at describing things. When we saw it, that’s when we knew we had arrived at our destination. But that’s not exactly it, the Globe Tower is still a street away so we ran all the way to that building. It was like a hotel and when we entered, I instantly noticed these two girls sitting on the other side of the room. I asked if they were the people we were looking for and it went fast. She asked for our ID’s, we signed, and then we got our tickets. Glad we made it on time. We went back to the venue and the registration has not started yet, or at least that’s what we thought. We went to the restroom because my cousin had to do some quick outfit change. He wore this cropped long sleeve sweater that we got from the thrift shop the night before. Oh the adventures I have with this cousin of mine. My outfit that day is just a combination of a Troye Sivan hoodie, leggings and a pair of maroon sneakers. We went out and we were awkwardly roaming around when Ryan, Janina’s brother literally ran past us. I almost bumped him a couple of times actually. Ok cool. We didn’t know where else to go when my cousin noticed that the registration has already started. The line was still not that long and some bouncers checked our bags. They weren’t as strict as the ones in YTFF. We claimed our passes and we got so many wristbands. I got them tied on both of my wrists. I rolled down my sleeves because I was so embarrassed lol. We also got some freebies - a tote bag that has an IAGT shirt (great quality btw), a bottled water, and a pokeball. LOL. I didn’t know what that thing was so I opened it up expecting some pokemon will pop out but it was a plastic that was rolled I thought it was a garbage bag. I unrolled it only to find out that it was a raincoat. The venue is an open ground, especially on the GA area so that was so thoughtful of them. Although, I kind of regret doing that. I had a hard time trying to put the raincoat back on the pokeball. The M&G was scheduled to start at 12:30 and it was only 11:30 so we had a lot of time to spare. I told my cousin we should go back to Market Market to kill some time but it was really hot that time my foundation is melting so we just stayed there and waited. We did a little photoshoot since BGC is a very Instagram-able place. This is the place where I feel like a cool photographer even when I’m not. We even saw the exact spot where Remi took a photo for her recent IG post. Cool. It was finally 12:30 so we went to the meetup place. We passed by the stage and we saw Donnalyn doing a soundcheck. My cousin fangirled. I am writing a separate blog post for my Meet and Greet experience since this is already too long. Read here: whoapotato.weebly.com/home/i-met-bethany-mota-niomi-smart-remi-cruz-abby-asistio-donnalyn-bartolome-and-kiana-valenciano The M&G went on from 12:30 – 4PM. We didn’t have time to eat so we were starving. I asked my cousin who was on her way if she could buy us some food. I was worried that food was not allowed inside the venue so I placed them in my bag and we went inside the VIP area. On our way back we also got some free ice cream. Yay. We were so close to the stage. The show hasn’t started yet and we wanted to participate on the activities/fair outside the venue. I asked my other cousin to reserve us the spots. There are no chairs btw. My feet were sore after the show but I am used to it since YTFF was also like this. We went to the Havaianas booth and there’s like a freedom wall where I wrote “Jughead wuz here”. I got a P200 off voucher. Ok cool. Then we went to the Microsoft area beside it. There’s a photobooth and we were expecting some freebies after but they ran out of it so to compensate, we just took 2 photos. I looked so unhappy on the second photo because that’s when we’re told that they ran out of freebies lmao. The show was started by Anne Clutz and I won’t go into detail about what happened to the whole show anymore. It was very different from YTFF. There are performances but mostly it’s just an interview/forum. The girls are really inspiring. I was hungry during the last half part of the show so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much because I was bothered by the World War 3 happening in my stomach. I was also not expecting the venue to be this hot so it was a struggle since I was wearing a hoodie. And the girl in front of me, no offense, but she smelled like she’s in another World War. I only got to change into a shirt after the show. Then we went straight ahead to Mcdonalds and talked about what just happened. It was still fun and my cousins and I bonded and I think that’s what’s important. The memories we share and the experiences we felt. Also can I just segue how it makes me feel super old??? The girls beside me at the barricade were way younger than I am. Like elementary level young. I am now wondering if I am getting too old for this fangirling thing. Or is it just because this specific event is mostly targeted for young girls? Bish I defo didn’t feel like this at YTFF. Yeah maybe it’s just because of the event. Ugh I need to do something with my life. I can’t be fangirling my whole life, right? |
just call her "G"when she can't say it, |
