1. Ask for a photo
This is definitely one of the things people do during meet and greets. Some M&Gs have an official photographer, meaning there will only be one photo and if it that didn’t turn out good, there’s not much you can do. Usually, these photos will be uploaded on their facebook page and you have to download these yourself. I don’t like this because the photos become low quality and it takes days for them to upload. What you can do if this happens, you can have a friend that is next in line to take a photo of you and the artist. It may kind of look like a BTS photo but it’s alright. It might even turn out better than the one taken by the official photographer. Some M&Gs, however, allow you to take a selfie with the artist. Grab this chance and you can even have another camera because there will be some staff willing to take a photo for you if you ask them nicely. That way, you can have two pictures: one that is a selfie and the other one taken of you. 2. Ask for a video greet As I have said, some M&Gs don’t allow you to bring a phone and take a picture with it. If you are a rebel and don’t follow the rules, do this at your own risk. I was actually once a rebel myself. I asked Tanner Patrick to greet my friend on a video. His security said it’s not allowed but Tanner was nice enough he didn’t listen to his security LOL. I also saw someone who was facetiming her friend while she was meeting LaurDIY and Lauren talked to her for a few seconds which was super nice. Although, those that allow you to take a selfie with the artist, they are also the ones that let you take a video of them. This type of M&G is mostly during festivals where it’s fine to vlog. You can film your experience of meeting them and if you have a YouTube channel, you can even ask them to tell the viewers to subscribe to you. 3. Be creative during the photo op This picture will serve as your memory of meeting your fave. If you want it to be more memorable, don’t just take normal photos. Take it up a notch, girl. Be crazy. Hug them, kiss them, hold hands with them. Ask them to do insane photos with you. Look for inspiration online. There are loads of M&G poses you can try. These artists have met numerous people and you don’t want to be forgotten so be as crazy as you can. I even saw someone proposing to Connor Franta with a chicken nugget. I myself asked Alex Wassabi to adopt me. Was that embarrassing? Yes. But did I regret doing it? No. It turned out Alex remembered me and when I tweeted our adoption paper, he was the first person to like it. Let your favourite artist know your existence. 4. Ask for a signature I just don’t want you to forget it. You might be all excited and nervous to be meeting the love of your life and there’s a huge chance you might forget to do this. Prepare a notebook or paper and pen in your bag. This could come in handy. You could even ask them to sign your shirt. 5. Tell them why you’re a fan Talk to them if you have a chance. This is the time where you can turn your tweets in real life. Tell them why you’re a fan. They like to listen to your stories. This will also give them a reassurance that you are indeed a true fan and you genuinely want to meet them. They are people too and not just robots you take a picture with and then just go. 6. Ask how they are They may have met 100 people that day and you are the first person to ask how they are feeling. It may be a simple and small thing to do but it will make them feel good. 7. Talk to them about their performance M&Gs can happen before or after the show. If it’s before, you can tell them how you’re looking forward to their performance. If it’s after, you can tell them how much you’ve enjoyed the show. 8. Thank them This is another one of those moments where you can turn your tweets to verbal words. If you always tweet how they have helped and inspired you, this is the time where you can personally tell it to them. 9. Say I love you It might be the only time where you can let them know how much you love them. Besides, if the M&G is too fast, these can be the only words you can really say. Most of them will reply with “I love you, too” so you can have this memory of your fave telling you that he/she loves you. That’s a short but sweet memory. 10. Give your presents Prepare your letters or fanarts. You can give it to them personally or there will be a box where you can leave it. Artists appreciate these and they even post on their social media about the gifts they received. If you are good at drawing or making artworks, give it to them or have them sign it. If there’s this thing you found that reminds you of your fav or something that you know your fav is going to like, go buy it. You could even make a scrapbook or any DIY that tells them reasons why you love them. M&Gs can be too fast so this is where you can write everything you want to tell them. There’s more chance of them reading those than flooding them on Twitter with loads of other fans. You can also be nice and hand them presents from fans who can’t be there. It is okay if you don’t have presents, though, so don’t feel obligated. Remember that just your support for them is more than enough.
