After 10 decades, here's the not-so-long-awaited second part of my Taytay Haul this year. Shameless self-promo, here's the first one if you missed it - https://whoapotato.weebly.com/home/taytay-haul-2018. This one is bigger and better. Also, I finally know how to commute to Taytay from Makati. You just have to ride a UV with a signboard that says "Tikling/Junction". Just tell the driver to drop you off at Tikling/Junction, then walk across the street. You will see some jeepneys but you have to ride the one that is on the way to Taytay Market. When you get there, just walk across the street from Jollibee if I remember it right lol basta there's a fastfood there and then surprise surprise there's the tiangge. I went there on a holiday so the transportation was not that difficult and long. I think we were there in less than an hour. I was worried that most of the stores will be closed since it was a holiday but I took a risk because it was a Monday which was their schedule for "bagsakan". Worth the risk! All of the stores were open and there were a lot to choose from it was honestly overwhelming. Gurl, I be like Sharpay singing "I Want It All". Okay but is it just me that gets so lazy to write a blog post thinking you're so sabaw you didn't even know what to write but then once you have finally forced yourself to start writing, you don't even know how you got to the fourth paragraph? Just me? Alrighty. I should stop rambling and go on with the haul sis I'm sorry. Ooohh look at the quality of this pic tho. Online sellers all over the world are shaking. Lol jk. Cropped Sweater - P250 This cropped sweater (I get so confused with sweatshirt and sweater like bij I'm too lazy to google the difference so forgive me if I use the term incorrectly from time to time. I only know what's a hoodie because hello there's a hood I wish there's also an obvious thing like that in sweaters or sweatshirts so I could tell which is which.) spoke to me in so many levels the first time I saw it. It was more expensive than the usual Taytay price but sis it's an overrun from Forever 21. I don't know if overruns are actually overruns but when I checked the label, it looked legit. The fabric doesn't feel cheap at all. It's actually thick but not super like it still works for our weather. It's also really soft. I think that I could get a lot of wear from this because this a super basic top that I could pair with literally anything. It's a classic too so this would never go out of style, momma's gonna get the value for her money. Pants - P110 My camera's not giving it justice (not surprised tbh) but the first two pants are of different colors. The first one is just the classic black one, the second is a dark olive green, the last is beige. They look classy in person and I like the ribbon that makes it a bit girly. This is perfect for work. The fabric is so soft and stretchy. I mean P330 for three pants? You could only buy one with that price in malls sis. Cropped polo shirt - P100 I'm in love with the first two designs. They look so expensive plus I've heard that horizontal stripes are good to make an illusion that you're thinner. It also reminds me of Liza Koshy because this is her go to casual look, just cropped polo shirts paired with any basic trouser or shorts. The third one looks better in person. It has floral designs but to be honest, I'm not that in love with it. Maybe someone would appreciate it more than me, it's just that I'm not really a fan of florals. I just bought it so I could get the 3 for P100 each lol (I think it'd be cheaper if I just bought the 2 that I actually like smh). Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I'm posting the wholesale price. 3 pieces are considered wholesale. If you're just going to buy one, add P10 and that's the original price. Shorts - P85 I legit squealed when I first saw these hanging. I was so sure that I was going to buy them. I even promised myself that when I go back I'm going to buy more. They have really great quality. The fabric is not thin at all. The stitches are even. The first two are high-waisted and perfect to pair with anything. It doesn't appear on camera but the first one is dark olive green. I preferred that more than the black one because it looks classier and softer on the eyes. The third one isn't high-waisted but it still looks good when worn. I love the plaid pattern. I also do like the ribbon around it but unfortunately it's sewn so if I have days when I don't feel too girly to wear a ribbon, I'd still have no choice. All of them have pockets, too, which is definitely a plus. Bang for the buck! Shirt - P60 These are also really nice purchases. I got super excited when I saw these. I was already planning to buy these before I even went to Taytay. I really had to go around the tiangge several times to find the best deal but these are the cheapest I could find. I thought they could be sold to as low as P50, but still with the quality of this shirt, it's worth the price anyways. They're so soft. It feels really good on the skin. It's not that thin as well. I like the pink and mustard yellow ones. Not a fan of the red, I'd prefer a different shade or maybe if the stripes are of the same size as the first two. Again, I just bought that so I could get them for the wholesale price. I'm not actually saving with this kind of thinking lol. The prints are very aesthetically pleasing, very vintage-y especially the mustard yellow. It's very much on trend to the point that I literally see everyone wearing it lol. I sometimes question myself if I would wear it because I get so scared that I would unintentionally match with someone. It looks cute no doubt, but who wants to wear a shirt that literally everyone has? So if you're planning to buy this, I'd suggest choose a different color if you want to be different. High waisted jeans - P250 I've been looking for the perfect high waisted jeans since forever. I didn't own one so I got excited when I found this. It's the perfect fit and it is indeed high waisted. It's just that whenever I sit with this on, it falls down to my hips, so it's not flattering when I stand because the crotch part would be way too low. It doesn't have a strap where I could insert a belt. This is such a bummer because I really like how it fits me and the fabric is not that thick but it's not too thin as well. It's very comfy and stretchy. This is more like a jegging. It is fine whenever I wear this just standing up or walking, but the moment I sit, it just slips down. Ugh, still on the hunt for the perfect high waisted jeans. Blazer with shorts - P250 Now I'm going to need your imagination with this one. Please imagine that these were ironed out and placed on the hanger nicely - then it'd be my best purchase out of this haul. I mean, P250 and you get a blazer with a pair shorts? Thank you, Jesus. The fabric is not super soft, but hopefully it will turn into one once I wash it. It looks big but once worn, the size is just right for me. I don't think someone bigger than me would fit into this which is kind of disappointing because this is the only size they have. I just wish everyone could get to try this because it's very affordable. This outfit is giving me Girl Boss vibes. I haven't tried the shorts yet but hopefully they'd look good. I'm having doubts with the way it looks and the way it would fit me I don't think it would be flattering lol. I prefer the other shorts I got. It's garterized at the back so you could stretch it out. Overall, I'm in love with this. I like the color which is very classy and trendy, it looks more expensive than it actually is. I'd like to go back and get it in other colors and pattens! So there goes my Taytay haul, hope you found this helpful. Here's to more hauls in the future!

Wow this blog post is SO long overdue. We went to Taytay Tiangge last April and A LOT has happened since then. I was able to wear these clothes to different special events already. I only got 4 items but I am so pleased with them. They are way cheaper compared to the ones you can buy in the malls. The first thing that I got is this pink hoodie. I wore it when I went to Glorietta to see Cole Sprouse. I thought it was the perfect outfit since we’d be inside the mall for a long time to wait for him. I had to wear something that is comfy and would protect me even if it gets cold. The material is not super soft and thick but I still like it since I also do not have to worry when I step out of the mall and then it would get hot. The only thing I didn’t like about this is the string because it looks like a freaking shoelace. I hope they’d just remove the aglet knowhatimsayn. Btw I got this for around Php120 I think. I honestly don't remember anymore. It's been 5 months, forgive me LOL. My cousin got another one from the same store but it is cropped and the material is softer. It is also cheaper. So if you want some cropped hoodie, you can get it there as well. I also found this coat which was really one of my targets since I saw this in a haul on YouTube. At first I wasn’t sure with the color. I had to choose between two shades of brown and the other one is brighter than this. I also liked that one so idk I still wish I could just get them both. But I just settled with this one for now, my friend actually chose for my indecisive self lol. There are loads of other colors there but I just preferred a brown one so I could match it with any outfit. I wore it at the Bruno Mars concert with a sweatshirt inside. Not the hoodie I was wearing in this photo lol. I was just too lazy to remove it. When I first tried it on, I thought it looked more formal than casual. It’s probably because of the shoulder part. Still this is a steal for its price. The quality of this isn’t so bad. There’s a string on the waist so you could tighten it, and it also comes with a hood. I think I got this for Php180. This skirt is what I paired with the coat at the concert. I was looking for a different skirt with buttons on the front but I couldn’t find one. The color of this is army green which does not register properly on the photo. It doesn’t give it justice but it looks cute in person. It is not leather but the material is thick enough to maintain its shape. It is also very comfortable. I just wanted go back to Taytay to find more skirts lol. I got everything else in Bagpi aside from this one. I don't remember the store now huhu. I think this was sold for Php130. The last thing I am showing you is actually the first thing that I bought. This was also one of my targets. I saw a jumper dress before this which I’m glad I didn’t buy because I like the material of this one better. The first one is made out of really soft cotton and it looked cheaper for me. I wore this last YTFF with a white shirt inside. I also think it would look cute with a white jumper inside but I don’t have that one so yeah. I'm pretty sure it costs Php150.
This was the first time that I went to Taytay and I didn’t even know how to get there on my own since my uncle just drove us there. But recently my friend just told me an easy way of commuting there from our place so I finally had my second round of Taytay Shopping where I got way cheaper and a whole more of clothes. Part 2 of my haul coming soon! We were very fortunate to have been able to watch Bruno Mars live in concert last May 3 and 4, for two consecutive days. TWO. FREAKING. DAYS. I still couldn’t believe. We even got to watch both concerts for free!
The first day was sponsored by Pepsi. My cousin won a contest and he got 4 Upper Box tickets. He brought us along with him. We went out at around 3pm and met up with our other cousin who just came from school. We rode the bus straight to MOA. We were supposed to meet up with Pepsi at 5 but we arrived 30 minutes earlier so we went inside the mall first and my cousin bought himself a charging cable for his phone. Someone from Pepsi messaged us of where we were meeting up with them. They also informed us that food will be served at the venue and maaaan I was so stoked when I found out about that lmao. I even joked with my cousins that I was more excited for the food than the concert itself. I was starving okay. People say things they don’t mean when they’re hungry. Anyways, we found the restaurant which was called “Gringo Chicken Rib and Friends” at exactly 5. There were people inside already. There was a table when we entered and my cousin wrote down his name. We also did write ours as his company. They gave us each a wristband that says “winners”. Yassss queens! The people from Pepsi were very accommodating. They told us that we could sit anywhere we want. I chose the one with the couch because we’re extra. When we were settled in, they served us food right away. They gave each one of us a bottled Pepsi. We were approached by two of their staffs and they explained to us how we had to film a video thanking Pepsi for their documentation, which we filmed right after we finished eating. There were nachos, burritos, and some food I honestly don’t know what it was called lol. I tried everything though. I was happy and full before the concert. Goals. We even finished a pitcher of iced tea by ourselves. We were seated with the other winners too. Pepsi actually closed the whole restaurant for this. How cool. I even thought of Bruno Mars just appearing out of nowhere and surprising us. But Pepsi has done enough for us, that’d be too much. Huehue. When we were done eating, we went out to record the video. We went inside to send it to one of the staffs. We noticed that some winners were already outside lining up so we followed them. We were escorted by a guy holding out a sign which says “winners”. Again, yaaaass queens! There were cameras on the road and we were being recorded. Hi Mom I made it! When we crossed the road, there’s the MOA Arena already. I mean it’s not that far. HAHA. We walked all the way to the back though because that’s the entrance for the Upper Box and GenAd. When it was our turn, the security was looking for our tickets and we told them that we were winners and showed them our wristbands. Funny story! We really needed tickets. HAHA. I found one of the staffs on his phone and I asked him where we could get them and he told us to go back to the restaurant. It was super embarrassing lmao. We ran all the way back. We told those in the registration area that we weren’t given tickets. We thought that we were the only ones left. They informed us about the girl who was in charge of the tickets and we saw her. I approached her and told her that we haven’t gotten our tickets yet. Another embarrassing story! She said that it’s because she was just about to give them out and there were still winners inside. We were part of the third batch. Face palm. Just a few minutes later, she gave us the tickets. Then there was, again, a line and a guy holding a sign. And you already know what happened. Except this time the security didn’t ask for our tickets anymore. She asked us to leave our Pepsi though because it wasn’t allowed inside. I finished a bottle with the help of my cousin then we were officially inside. It was my first time in MOA Arena so I was really excited to explore the venue. A guy from Pepsi told us about the VIP lounge and that there will be endorsers there. He stressed that Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil might be there. Spoiler alert: they weren’t. Also side note, he cute doeeee. HAHAHAHA. Okay, back to regular programming. We rode the escalator and explored the venue. Thanks to Jollibee for the free tuna pie. I got four and I was able to feed my family LOL. San Mig and Selvarey were also serving free drinks but I don’t even drink so Pepsi pa rin. I also heard that Bruno founded Selvarey but I’m not sure if it was true. Well if it this, then why didn’t I try it?! Anyways, we got free temporary tattoos naman from Selvarey the next day so that’s what I am keeping in my memory box. It’s a gold gorilla. Very Bruno Mars. While strolling around, we found the VIP lounge and another funny story! I was talking to my cousin and she told me that she just saw someone that looked like Nico Bolzico, the husband of Solenn. When I turned around he was already behind me and I said “Hi Nico!” then he smiled at me. I was laughing at my cousin and she told me that she thought it was a different person because the girl he was with wasn’t Solenn. Up to this day, I still don’t know who that girl is but maybe she’s his sister or niece. Idek. When we looked at Nico again, a lot of people were already asking for a picture. We lined up but when it was our turn they stopped and told everyone to come back later. However, a girl from Pepsi noticed our wristbands and bij we were given priorities there. Yaassss queens! They allowed us to have pictures with Nico and Joyce Pring. My cousin’s phone was acting up so Pepsi just took our photos and posted it on their Instagram story. When we checked their IG, they also posted the vid we took outside Gringo. Shems kotang kota na kami. We love you, Pepsi! I also got to talk to Joyce and I told her that we were able to see her at IAGT. I also joked that we were expecting that she’d sing and dance and she laughed and told me there wasn’t enough time. After taking pictures, the girl who assisted us led us to the “Pepsi Tunnel” where we took another video and boomerang which they also posted on their IG story. It was super fun and the staffs are really nice. Pepsi you’re the best! The concert hasn’t even started yet but this was already one of the best and most memorable concerts ever! Before we entered the actual arena, we got a very important phone call. It was so important and it was a long story that I couldn’t even write it here LOL. Then we saw the Jollibee booth and the whole Jollibee squad was there so we asked for a picture. We rode the escalator again and we finally found our entrance. I was exactly at the Upper Box Section 406 Coral Row I Seat 15. There was a DJ to start the show followed by the Jabbawockeez. I was so surprised when they took off their masks. They were really great and I was so excited when I found out that they were the opening act. After the performance of the Jabbawockeez, it took almost 30 minutes for them to set up the stage. When the curtains were finally up again and Bruno started singing, everyone just lost it. We stood from our seats and jumped up and down. We were so hyped. Everything was just so perfect. The lights, the explosions, the backup/band, the camera angles which were super cool btw, and the man of the hour Bruno Mars himself. This guy is a genius. What can he not do?! I even lost it when he sang in Filipino. I wasn’t expecting that at all HAHAHA. When the curtains were already down, everyone chanted for more. Of course, the man is prepared. He had one more song and it was Uptown Funk. The stage effects on that one were just amazing! The fire behind him and the “firemen”. WHAT. A. CONCEPT. This concert is 11/10. I didn’t think he could do it all over again for the second day but seriously how does he do it?! He does not seem to get tired. I think I get second-hand exhaustion for him. For the second day, we entered the venue a bit later. We were waiting for our tickets and we got them at 8. While we were in line, guess who were just two people behind us? Karylle and Zsazsa Padilla. My cousin was shy at first but he was able to take a pic with them, also with Ronan Domingo and his boyfriend. We saw loads of celebrities there. The Kramer family and the dad buying some snacks, Rochelle Pangilinan and Arthur Solinap before we rode the escalator, Darren Espanto when we got down from the escalator after the concert (this kid is so tall), and then Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo who were seated just below us. It was funny how we found out that they were in our section. I was taking a photo of my cousin and he was raising both of his arms, eyes closed (he was wearing a cropped top) and when he opened his eyes he saw Juday pointing at him LOL. He wanted to take pictures with them but she was carrying her son so I just told him to let them have some privacy. Thanks to SMART for our second day Lower Box tix! Our seats were perfect. We got a really nice view of the stage. When we got inside, the Jabbawockeez were already towards the end of their performance. It was alright though. At least we got to watch them on the first day already. There weren’t free tuna pie anymore outside so we were hungry but when Bruno came out of the stage, I forgot about my hunger until it was through lol. Day 2 was just as perfect as day 1. Two sold out shows! BRUNO MARS DID THAT! SLAY, MY KING! I ALREADY MISS YOU! YOU WERE SO GREAT! WISH I COULD SEE YOU AGAIN ON YOUR NEXT SHOW HERE. SPECIAL THANKS TO PEPSI AND SMART FOR LETTING US HAVE THIS MAGICAL EXPERIENCE AND MAKING IT EXTRA SPECIAL! BEST TWO DAYS OF MY LIFE! I had an early class the next day, though. Ugh. Answering questions The essentials that I have in my university bag are definitely far from what I used to put in my school bag. When I was in high school, I used to have a huge backpack where I carry around loads of notebooks for different subjects. Actually I must have brought that bag until my first year in uni when I was acting like a very good student. But now, I just got tired of it and I realized that these are pretty much the only things I need to survive a day inside the campus. First of all, here’s the bag I currently use. I have featured it on my recent “What I Got For Christmas” blog - whoapotato.weebly.com/home/january-03rd-2018 It might look small from the outside but it can fit quite a lot of stuff. Aside from being small, I like that it’s also black with tassels that give it a nice edgy touch. It has great quality for a very affordable price. The material doesn’t feel cheap at all and it doesn’t seem like it can easily get ripped. It has basically got everything I love in a bag. Now here are the contents of my bag: I.D. – I have it on my bag at all times. Even when I come home and I remove my uniform and ID, I put it in my bag right away because I’m scared I might forget it. I didn’t want to have a record since the guards at my uni are very keen at checking. I also put my beep card along with it because I ride the train and it’s easier for me that way. Umbrella – The weather here is very unpredictable so I had to bring this everywhere with me. There’s nothing I hate more than being stranded in a place waiting for the rain to stop because I forgot my umbrella. Pouch – This is where I try to keep my earphones and phone. I can’t count how many earphones I’ve broken because I would just throw them in my bag and they’d be tangled and it’s a disaster, so I try to take care of them now. Well good for me. It’s been three months and my earphones are still holding on. PS The pouch is not sponsored by BDO. My mom just gave it to me and it’s the perfect size because my big phone can fit in there. Wallet – My friend gave it to me as a “pasalubong” when she went to the province. At first, I didn’t know when I’d use it since I already have a wallet plus it’s really thin it can’t fit my cards and receipts. But then recently I’ve been using it for that same exact reason. Since it’s thin, it doesn’t take up much space. It’s perfect for when I don’t really need to bring other stuff but just money. Fan - Our rooms are air conditioned but in between classes or during commute, this thing helps a lot. Vanity pouch – I’ve got a mirror, powder, fragrance mist, lip tint, and comb – to look somehow presentable because yknow every student is in a stressful environment. I also have a lotion and lip balm because as I have said, we stay in air conditioned rooms and my skin and lips tend to get really dry. I bring a mouthwash because I get conscious especially when I eat food that leaves a strong smell. Well maybe I could just bring a toothbrush but that’s too much work for me. Pencil case – I try to be artsy so I have all of these colourful pens with me at all times. But really the essentials are just black marker, ruler, red and black pens, and scissor. Notebook – I learned that you basically just need one notebook to survive a semester. I write everything there - notes, reminders, schedules, deadlines. It’s basically my life and the most important thing inside my bag. These are everything I keep in my front pocket so they are easily accessible. Coin purse – Very helpful for when I commute so I don’t have to dig for my wallet inside the main compartment of my bag. Hair tie – You just never know when you need it. Alcohol – Hygiene is very important for me. Tote bag – I just fold it to make it smaller so it doesn’t take much space but I try to bring at least one because sometimes I buy things on the way home and I need something where I can put them. Most of the time I also bring water bottle with me but I had to use a bigger bag because a water bottle does take up a lot of space and it instantly makes your bag ten times heavier. But I am still an advocate of bringing your own water bottle because aside from saving money, you get to help the environment by not using disposable plastic bottles. |
