I used to be that person. When I started making my twitter account, I thought those who have a lot of followers were cool people. It is as if your twitter ratio matters. The rule is that you should have more followers than following. Well I am no expert here but based from my 6 years on Twitter, these are the things that I have observed to be working.
1. Tweet relatable stuff If you tweet relatable stuff, there’s a big possibility that people might retweet you. When they do, their followers will see your tweet. Chances are they might also check out your account and they might decide to follow you... then they might also retweet you... and the cycle will continue. 2. See what’s trending Watch out for whatever is trending in your country or worldwide. Tweet something about it. Use your wits. If people agree with your opinion, they will retweet or like you. Your tweet might even go viral. This way, people will check out your account and some of them will definitely follow you. 3. Be an active fan/update account Fan/update accounts usually have a lot of followers. It is because people who are on the same fan base follow them. Since this fan/update accounts post updates and pictures about their idols, other people tend to follow them to be updated as well. These are also the fan accounts who post memes and everything relatable about their idol. 4. Do giveaways A lot of people watch out for giveaways. And when you do giveaways, one of the rules could be to follow your account. Another rule could also be them retweeting you. That way, more people will know about your giveaway which means more followers. 5. Follow more people You might want to do this if you don’t even check your timeline. If you do, this will surely bother you. Following a lot of accounts will make your timeline messy. But this thing works that I even see some verified accounts doing this trick. I know Bart Baker does it. He followed me once. He seemed familiar and I checked out his account for me to find out that he’s a YouTuber. I decided to follow him back but after a few days, he unfollowed me. That’s one of the ways he gains followers. There’s no guarantee that all people will follow you back but at least half of them will. Then you can just unfollow them after some time. 6. Search for follow trains This will affect your image so do this at your own risk. Follow trains are those tweets with “Follow everyone who RTs” or “RT for 100 free follows”. There’s also no guarantee that all people who RT will follow you, or if you RT that tweet, you will really get 100 followers. But there is no harm in trying. Some accounts still do this. But as I have said, it will affect your image since your followers will see that you RT those tweets and they might think that your followers are not real. These are just some of the tricks that work on Twitter. Like what I said, I used to think that those who have more followers are way cooler but now I don’t. For me, Twitter isn’t a venue for who’s got more followers or not, it is a platform where I can be myself. My family doesn’t know I have Twitter. This is where I post about random and nonsense stuff I just want to get out of my head. But if you want more followers, you could just do the things I listed above. I have done some of those, too. Just a reminder that you should not get validation based on the number of followers you have. You are cool in your own weird way.

If this is your first time paying for your tuition fee at Landbank and you have no idea what in the world you're doing, I hope this article helps you. Well I am pretty sure you already know this but the first step is apparently enrolling online. I won't explain the process anymore because I don't know what procedures other universities follow, but from my university there's an instruction on the site so just in case I forgot how to enrol myself (which happens every term), I know I can always read the online enrolment procedures. Now, if you are too lazy to read, you always have your classmates to the rescue. You'll know that you have successfully done it when you click save and it shows the bank copy and order of payment voucher. Check if it has accurate information and print it out. For my case, I only need one sheet of bond paper and I print my voucher in landscape. It is divided into two parts. The first half is the bank copy and the other half is the order of payment. Now usually I will only need to use the bank copy if I enrol through Landbank, which means I could keep the order of payment voucher to myself. But some branches require both vouchers so I always bring both just in case. Well for other universities, maybe it's not exactly the same but the thought is just the same. Bring any voucher you need to present at the bank. It may be your registration form or whatever. You may also want to know when is the deadline of the payment. You don't want to be late because there will be additional fee. For us it's Php250 and it happened to me once when I was too lazy to go to the bank. Please don't be like me unless you're willing to pay for your laziness. Now once you have forced yourself to finally go to the bank, don't forget to bring your voucher and payment. Also, always bring an ID. Landbank doesn't really require it but you know, it is always good to be a boy/girl scout. You should also prepare Php25 for the additional bank service fee. When you're there, just act normal, as if you know what you're doing. Be confident, gurl. When a security guard asks what you're there for, just tell him you will pay for your tuition fee then flip your hair. There's this area inside where you can fill out forms and it's definitely overwhelming if this is your first time because there are lots of different kinds of forms. This is the form that you have to get. It is back-to-back but this is the part that you have to fill out.
For the date, write the exact date when you're actually paying. Then, put a check on "cash" as your mode of payment. Now for the account number, check your voucher or registration form. It is there and you just have to copy it. For the merchant/agency name, write the name of your university. It is okay to write the acronym if the name of your uni is too long and you're too tired to write it or if your handwriting is so big you're afraid it won't fit. For reference number 1, write your full name. Reference number two should include your course code, which you should also see on your voucher. Reference number three is your student number. The amount is the total amount of your tuition fee, that's without the bank service fee. Then, write the name and signature of whoever is paying. It could be you if you're personally paying or it could be your mom or any representative. Just bring an ID to be sure. Fill out three copies of the same form. One copy goes to Landbank and you could keep the other two as your official receipt. When you're done, go to the security guard near some kind of a machine. I have no idea what it's called. It ejects a number and you should keep that and wait until your number is called. There are TV screens that flash those numbers and that's where you could watch out if you're next. It also tells you which teller you should approach. When it's your turn, just present all the forms you filled out together with your voucher/registration form. The teller validates it and she signs/stamps your forms. Give your payment which includes the bank service fee. When it's done, she will return the two forms for you, and she will keep your voucher. As I have mentioned earlier, those forms will serve as your receipt. And that's it. You're done. Other people do not prefer this way of paying for tuition fees. Others have experienced paying through Landbank but when school year starts, they would learn they're still not officially enrolled. That is the reason why others would rather go to their university to pay there. I have never experienced any failed transaction for the last terms that I have been paying through the bank. I prefer it especially when I am on vacation. I would rather pay for the additional Php25 bank service fee than experience the hassle of commuting to uni with the expected long line of students paying at the cashier. It usually just takes me at least 15 minutes at the bank compared to a whole day at school. So you sign up on Netflix and enjoy the shows there. You finished watching the entire season of 13 Reasons Why and you find other shows to watch, and then you realize that there are only a few shows available compared to the selection US Netflix has. Your question is now how can you watch through US Netflix?
Well the answer is simple. You need to use a VPN. Although Netflix has blocked some VPNs, there are still some applications out there that work. What I currently use is ExpressVPN that I downloaded from the Playstore. How VPNs work is that it tricks Netflix into recognizing that your IP is in USA. There are other countries where you can connect as well like Japan, UK, Hongkong, etc. You can also try connecting to those so you can see what shows are available on their Netflix. I personally prefer using USA because I believe they have the best selection of shows and movies and it has the fastest connection for me, although sometimes I also do connect to other countries when I want to watch a particular show that is not available in the US. I only use the free trial version of ExpressVPN. You can use it for a week. You can also try other VPNs and enjoy the free trials while they last if you are like me who's too poor to buy the paid versions. What I do after connecting to the wifi is opening the ExpressVPN app first, and then tapping the button to connect to US. When my connection is secure and running, that is when I open Netflix. Apparently I use my phone to do all of these. I prefer watching through my phone so I could do it even when I am lying down. I also do not watch the shows directly. What I do is I download them offline while making sure that I am still connected to VPN. I do this because if I watch directly with the wifi on, I am not sure if it will remain connected to VPN. Also, downloading offline uses less data and I do not like how it loads or buffers when I am watching directly. Plus it is convenient when you are on-the-go or you are in a place where there is no wifi available. You can watch your downloaded show anytime, anywhere. Even if you are not using a VPN, you can still watch them since you have already downloaded them. The only thing that is sad about this is that the download feature is not available for all shows and movies. It is still a great feature, though. |
